Many people consider Sean Connery as the Best James Bond ever. With his gangly walk, along with this excellent physical skills make him somone you never wanted to meet in a bar room firght.

Connery was disgruntled with being James Bond at the end of You Only Live Twice. In a statment , Connery was asked exactly what he thought of Japaneese women, he said, "Japaneese women are just not sexy." In this he created "Connery Vs. Japan." This situation made it very difficult to work in Japan, eventualy making him take a 4 year hiatus.

Connery returned in Diamonds are Forever, which wasn't a whole movie. It didn't have the completeness of a James Bond film. It almost seemed like they were getting ready for the Roger Moore Era.

Possibly one of the top two Bond's ever, George Lazenby lit up the screen in 1969 with the creation of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." Though, it would be a one stop movie for Lazenby, it was one that will forever be remembered as a love story, and some of the greatest action sequences in the James Bond series. Lazenby had the wit, charm, and the look of James Bond. Whether it be him landing his uppercuts in the face of a villian, or charming Ruby in the allergy clinic, George Lazenby could do it all.

Lazenby got the part by being well-liked by the people at MGM/UA, he was paid a retainer fee so that he would stay in London. He lied and said he was a playboy that liked fast cars, and other expensive things. The producers liked him, and brought him on.

It was all downhill from there for George Lazenby. He was fueding with the director of "OHMSS," and ordered some of his friends off the set becuase, "they weren't treating him like a star." Lazenby fueded thoughout the film, until the end, when he quit and sailed around the world.

Lazenby hasn't done much lately in the way of acting, he was in a new computer game called "Fox Hunt," and starred in a "Kentucky Fried Movie," a spoof on the James Bond sereies.

Roger Moore was the most humorous James Bond in the series. He brought a contrast to Sean Connery's go get'em style. It was much more loose, and free relaxing. That didn't seem to stop the producers from inviting him to 7 James Bond films. Roger More had 4 success films in a row with "The Spy Who Loved Me," "Moonraker," "For Your Eyes Only," and "Octopussy." Roger Moore was also in some of thye worst films with "The Man With The Golden Gun," and "A View to a Kill."

Roger Moore was excellent in his middle films, then he got too old, and that was especically noticeable in "A View to a Kill." I thought that if he would have let either Brosnan or Dalton step in, they would have fit in nicely, and then maybe Dalton wuold have been on for a few more films then he was.

Roger Moore was originally considered for the role of James Bond in "Dr.No." He was considered too much of a pretty boy, and really he was. But as the Bond series went into the 1970's, people accepted the more pretty boy look.

As a lot of experts say, Timothy Dalton is the most "Fleming Like" James Bond, ever on the silver screen. Though Dalton was a last minute pick over Pierce Brosnan, who couldn't get out of his contract with NBC, he did the job with flying colors. He read about Bond through the Ian Fleming books, finding out exactly what James Bond did best.

Dalton gave the look of an overworked assassin, which Fleming painted in words. Dalton's look gave a crueler look then any of the other Bonds. This was a change from the over humored Roger Moore, and the sci-fi plastic stuff that Moore did. Dalton brought back believablitly.

Timothy Dalton was origianlly considered for the part wat back in 1971. He would have been rather young, but didn't want to sidetrack his emerging career on stage and on the silver screen.

Pierce Brosnan became the "new" James Bond 007 on June 8, 1994 after Timothy Dalton resigned the part because of swirling controversy. He became a "Bond for the 90's" as they touted at the press conference. Brosnan brought in a new Bond with a charm, and a less dangerous mentality then Timothy Dalton. Brosnan was originally contending for the part back in 1986, when "The Living Daylights" was being made, but couldn't get out of his "Remington Steele" contract with NBC. In my mind, I'm glad he didn't.

Pierce Brosnan is a lighter Bond than Dalton, with less of a seriousness to him, and a less unpredictability then the previous Bonds. Brosnan does show off his ability to be dangerous by jumping off of a dam, and by sky diving to an airplane. Brosnan should be an excellent Bond, he just needs more experience.

Brosnan is working on "Robinson Carusoe" and "Mars Attack" at the moment, and should start work on the next Bond film, though we're not sure what it's going to be called.
